Published on 13th June 2014
We're absolutely delighted to announce a new series of Lunchtime Lectures here at the Linn. Details can be found on our events page - always worth having a look as it is being constantly updated. Alternatively, you can subscribe to Linnean News, a monthly newsletter with information on all our events in a handy email.
It seems that Lunchtime Lectures have been around for some time. We found this great entry from Linnaeus's diary.
It says...
Public botanical lectures, by Carl Linnaeus of Småland, public demonstrator in Uppsala garden, given in Uppsala botanical academic and public garden from 3 May to 24 June of the year 1731, carried out for one hour at midday and at 4 o’clock, except for days on which public lectures are held, in the place of the noble professor Olof Rudbeck.
I'm sure Carl would be proud of our upcoming series!
