We’re delighted to announce that we have signed the legal documentation outlining the agreement with the Government to secure a 999-year leasehold of our premises at Burlington House.

The photograph shows our CEO, Gail Cardew, President, Anjali Goswami, Treasurer, Ed Banks surrounded by all the staff present for the signing of the Linnean Society documents. We have received confirmation that similar agreements have been signed by our partners around the courtyard, as well as Government, and have now come into legal effect.

The security of our tenure at the building will enable us to protect our history and collections for future generations, as well as enact our strategic plan to make sure nature is understood, valued and protected.

We’re hugely grateful to the members of the Society who have supported our campaign to stay in Burlington House, and to the staff and Council members who have worked to bring this agreement to fruition.
